The Kerr Family

About Us

South Corton Farm is home to the Kerr family—Willie, Alison, and their children David and Joanne—along with their two lively Jack Russell terriers, Tildy and Dixie. Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Ayrshire countryside, the farm has been in the family for five generations. Today, Willie and David continue the proud tradition of dairy farming, caring for a herd of 220 Holstein Friesian cows and raising their young stock with dedication and care.

While the Willie and David manage the farm, Alison and Joanne, alongside their hardworking team, run The Coo Shed and Corton Plants, creating a vibrant hub of rural life. Corton Plants, the family’s well-established and much-loved plant nursery, was already a local favourite when The Coo Shed opened its doors in April 2017. Originally conceived as a small extension to the nursery, The Coo Shed quickly grew into a popular destination in its own right.

Warm, welcoming, and full of rustic charm, The Coo Shed offers a relaxed space for friends and families to come together. Whether you're popping in for a morning coffee, a leisurely lunch, or to indulge in one of our famous home-baked cakes, you’ll always find something to savour. Everything is made with care, using quality ingredients—many of them local—to ensure freshness and flavour in every bite.

Set against the scenic backdrop of South Corton Farm, The Coo Shed is more than just a café—it’s a celebration of family, farming, and good food. We love sharing our space with locals and visitors alike, and we look forward to welcoming you soon.
